The Cincinnati Bengals are Joe Burrow’s team.
There has been no doubt about it since the moment he heard his name being called the general number 1. But the idea was greatly reinforced in the past 48 hours, when he played a key role in recruiting free agents for the team.
Offensive tackle Riley Reiff is an excellent example. Burrow was there at a filet dinner to meet his new blocker the night before the deal closed. What Reiff has to say in the aftermath is revealing.
“I was a long way from eating that steak and I was like I wanted to block it for this guy,” said Reiff, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Seeing him in the movie, but he’s even better off the field.”
So, what exactly is this? Just Burrow:
“Exactly the way he behaves. Loads up. He looks like a realistic Cincinnati guy. We just sat there shitting a little bit. But really impressed with him. … Resistant, midwest, worker. Come to work. “
Apparently, Burrow also made a proposal to Kenny Golladay, not to mention what else is going on behind the scenes. Toca is one of the reasons why Mike Hilton says he jumped from the Steelers to the Bengals.
Call it the Joe Burrow effect or whatever – it also doesn’t look like the team is over.
