When you’re deciding which network coverage you’re going to watch this New Year’s Eve (the answer is, as it does every year, alternating between each channel’s programming, in an uninterrupted loop, for hours), ABC expects you to give your vote behind them Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve special, which will include the participation of President-elect Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden. The vice president and the future first lady will join host Ryan Seacrest for what Variety the notes will be “the last interview of the future president of the calendar year”, unless, of course, the Biden find themselves in some kind of time curve Principle-type of situation and having to repeat the last few months in reverse, which would just be the most appropriate ending for 2020, right?

The crowded annual meeting in Times Square will not happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Rockin ‘New Year’s Eve will feature performances in New York, where Seacrest will be joined by Billy Porter and Lucy Hale, Los Angeles, where Ciara will host, and New Orleans with host Big Freedia, with Jennifer Lopez ending the night as the headliner. Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest starts on Thursday at 8:00 pm Eastern Time.
