Of all the cinematic universes that have emerged since Marvel and Disney, it finally proved that a huge company-wide movie crossover could net billions and billions of dollars if it really did. done right, few were built so transparently after the fact like Bad Robot and Paramount’s supposed Cloverfield film franchise. Say what you want about the moldy remnants of Universal’s Dark universe, but at least most (largely hypothetical) gFilms of stupid monsters were created Like franchise members. Whereas JJ Abrams and his team had a strange tendency to turn films into Cloverfield films after the fact; both 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox were originally conceived as stand-alone projects that then found themselves receiving Cloverfieldsince Abrams put his hands the scripts.
All of this is important to note our surprise today, how Variety reports that a Cloverfield sequel that actually started life as a Cloverfield sequel is now reportedly in the works. Hhopefully will not abandon the original film “What a Godzilla film looks from street level? ”Presumption, however, because that – along with smart marketing – was practically the best thing that the original the film had it in its favor.
