Jim Jordan: Dems unaware that Trump urged the DC crowd to protest ‘peacefully and patriotically’

Video footage presented by Democrats at Trump’s impeachment trial sessions this week told only part of the January 6 Capitol story, US Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said on Wednesday.

Democrats have repeatedly emphasized Trump’s “fight like hell” comment at the rally as they seek to condemn Trump on a January 13 House impeachment charge of “inciting an insurrection”.

But at another point in his speech, Jordan noted, Trump urged his supporters to “make their voices heard in a peaceful and patriotic way” – an inconvenient comment that does not seem to fit the Democrats’ narrative as they seek Trump’s condemnation.

“Make your voices heard in a peaceful and patriotic way.”

“The only sentence in the president’s speech that was not on the Democrats’ video is the most important, and that’s when the president said, ‘Make your voices heard in a peaceful and patriotic way,'” Jordan said during an appearance on Fox Business’ ‘Varney & Co.’

“They left it out, which I think shows where the Democrats want to go with this and what they have been doing,” added Jordan.

Earlier in appearance, Jordan warned that Democrats were trying to challenge Trump’s First Amendment right to freedom of expression.

“The First Amendment argument [made by Democrats against Trump] it’s very dangerous. … The president is engaged in a constitutionally protected speech – a speech that is protected by the First Amendment, the document itself … that we swear to defend and they will try to challenge you for it. “

HANNITY PERFORMS DEMOCRATS ON ‘INCREDIBLE’ HYPOCRISY IN INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC

“How does this unify the country?” Jordan asked about the Democrats’ impeachment effort. “How does this unite the nation, which is what Joe Biden said he wanted to do on January 20?”

Later, in Fox News ‘”Hannity”, Jordan argued that the American public will ultimately not accept the hypocrisy represented by the Democrats’ impeachment allegations.

“The Democrats last summer – Democratic members of Congress – said that there needs to be more unrest on the streets, while there was unrest on the streets – and somehow this is not incitement?” Jordan said in an appearance with Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif.

“But when the president says ‘make your voices heard in a peaceful and patriotic way’, will they impeach him?

“This is what Americans despise so much,” continued Jordan. “There are many things that they hate in this city [Washington]. They hate it when we spend their money on crazy things. But what they hate most is the hypocrisy and double standard that the elite of this city manages to have.

“At the moment, there is a wall around the Capitol to protect politicians, but no, can we not protect the border to protect the country?

“This is what irritates Americans more than anything else and that’s why they appreciated President Trump so much, because he came here and did what he said and fought for the things that American families care about and are now seeing … this crazy circus of an impeachment. “
