Jim Carrey mocks Melania Trump in controversial political art: ‘The worst first lady’

Jim Carrey shared a controversial piece of political art on Friday about former First Lady Melania Trump.

The cartoon-style illustration shows Trump, up close and smiling, 50, in front of a turquoise backdrop. On the right, the image features a caption in pink letters that says, “Oh … and goodbye, worst first lady. I hope the deal can finance your life at the bottom. Thank you for nothing.”

Carrey did not share his own caption when sharing his tweet on Friday afternoon. However, the post received more than 25,900 likes, 2,500 retweets and 371 quote tweets on Sunday morning.

Several commentators called the 59-year-old comedian to his critical post. Others expressed their disappointment at Carrey’s views, going so far as to write that the cartoon is “sexist”, “anti-woman” and full of “hypocrisy” for someone who identifies himself as a leftist.

In the past few weeks, Carrey has been sharing political caricatures about President Donald Trump and remarkable Capitol rioters. Cartoons of Democratic political figures appear to be shown more positively in your Twitter feed, including the old USA Stacey Abrams, Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden.
