Jey Usage is not clinically authorized for WWE Royal Rumble

Jey Uso has not been clinically released for the WWE Royal Rumble, according to Dave Meltzer.

The medical reason was not informed and his expectation of return is unknown. It was not seen on the Rumble chart on Friday, but it appeared the week before. He was still listed for the match on WWE.com on Sunday afternoon.

The 35-year-old was last seen in the ring losing to Shinsuke Nakamura at the January 15 SmackDown and has not been on the show since. He was part of the recent Roman Reigns / Kevin Owens angle, which saw Reigns retain his WWE Universal title over Owens in a last man standing fight at Rumble.

Jey’s twin brother Jimmy is also on the sidelines as he recovers from knee surgery in spring 2020, with an estimated initial recovery schedule of 6 to 9 months.

Last night’s male Rumble match was won by Edge and featured several surprise appearances and comeback (Christian, The Hurricane, Kane and Carlito) and some absences (Uso and Keith Lee).
