Jewel-Osco offers customers the choice of COVID vaccines – NBC Chicago

Jewel-Osco is offering its customers the choice of the coronavirus vaccine they would like to target.

The supermarket chain is offering customers the option to choose the vaccine they want while looking for an appointment, when available.

In the company’s vaccination program, customers can select whether to check appointments with Pfizer or Moderna two-dose vaccines or with Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose vaccine.

“Osco Drug Pharmacy offers customers a choice of vaccines based on the allocation received,” a company spokesman told NBC 5. “We are adding appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as soon as the supply is available”

While there are many options for residents to research coronavirus vaccines, many do not offer a choice about which vaccine to administer.

That may change, however, as Illinois expects an influx of vaccine supplies in the coming days.

According to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are expected to increase very “soon”.

“We hope to see a significant number, millions of doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine coming soon in the next few days,” said the governor during an unrelated news conference on Friday. “And then, hopefully, a sustained increase at Johnson & Johnson, as well as we continue to see an increase at Pfizer and Moderna.”
