Jets looking for Patrick Graham of the Giants for the position of coach

The search for training for the Jets is taking them to their own backyard.

Gang Green asked to interview Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, according to the NFL Network, after firing coach Adam Gase on Sunday night.

Graham, a 41-year-old Yale product, attracted a lot of attention this season, leading the Giants 17-12 victory over the Seahawks in Week 13. Under his supervision this season, the Giants finished 12th in general defense and ninth in the punctuation defense.

Graham joined Joe Judge’s Giants team – his second spell with the team – this season, after spending time with the Patriots, Packers and Dolphins. Graham is expected to be a booming commodity, as jobs as chief technician are emerging in the NFL, with six vacancies already open.

Probably joining the Jets in pursuit of Graham – who protected Logan Ryan once called “the Black Picasso” for his defensive exploits – are the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers .
