The Jets continued to fill their defensive technical team on Tuesday, hiring a linebacker.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Mike Rutenberg will fill that position on coach Robert Saleh’s team.
Rutenberg worked with Saleh on the 49ers team last season and with the Jaguars early in their careers. He was the defensive pass game specialist. He was on the 2013-2019 Jaguars team and Saleh worked in Jacksonville from 2014-2016.
The Jets also hired safetie coach Marquand Manuel and senior defense / cornerback coach Tony Oden on Tuesday. Oden was also part of the 49ers’ team during the 2020 season, while Manuel worked for the Eagles.
