Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has put respiratory problems at the front and center of people around the world, but for many parents, asthma in children is something they have unfortunately been dealing with long before the viruses spread. And they will continue to face it for years to come. Celebrity mothers like Jessie James Decker are no different than other mothers of children with asthma.
On Thursday, Decker posted a photo of his 2-year-old son Forrest, using a nebulizer to treat his asthma. The country singer, who is also the mother of Vivianne, 6, and Eric Jr., 5, said this is the third time they have taken the child to the hospital in six weeks.

“Every time he gets a cold, he starts breathing hard, his oxygen levels drop and his heart rate increases,” she wrote. “At the end of the day, I’m saying he has asthma, even though he’s too young to diagnose. … It’s scary to see your vital signs drop, hear your grunts and see your chest struggling so hard to breathe. “

Decker said she doesn’t publish this type of photo often because it keeps her family life very private, but she liked some of the incredible advice she received from other mothers on Instagram.
“It’s that kind of mom helping the mom community here that I really appreciate,” she wrote. “So, I just want to know from this post if any other dad has been through this? In addition to an allergist and an expert, did this go away for your babies? Is he now allergic to pet hair? “
Many commentators accessed Instagram to share their support, personal stories, advice and hope for Forrest’s speedy recovery. A former asthmatic, @baileygalassi wrote: “I had asthma as a child and used a lot of nebulizers and breaths to help with breathing. Fortunately, he got over it, but sometimes it was scary, for sure. I hope you have everything under control. “
So do we! Hopefully the Decker family will find out what is causing Forrest’s asthma attacks and that he is recovering soon.
