Jessie J hospitalized after becoming ‘completely deaf’

Jessie J revealed that she was hospitalized on Christmas Eve after being temporarily “completely deaf” due to Meniere’s illness.

“I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, I couldn’t walk in a straight line,” she explained during a recent live on Instagram (via Daily Mail). “I know that a lot of people suffer from this and, in fact, a lot of people came to me and gave me great advice, so I’m silent.”

Meniere’s disease is a disease of the inner ear that causes vertigo, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The 32-year-old singer said she received medication and was at home recovering after visiting the hospital.

“I am very grateful for my health. It just confused me. On Christmas Eve, I was in the hospital by ear and asked, ‘What’s going on?’ But I am happy to have gone earlier and they found out that it was very fast and I started taking the right medicine, so I feel much better, ”she said.

On Christmas Day, the “Bang Bang” singer said Netflix was helping her to recover.

“Now I’m watching Queens Gambit with a finger in my ear 😂👂🏻”, she posted on Instagram. “I did the first episode 4 times because I zero focus and my ear sounds like someone has crawled and turned on a hair dryer.”
