Jessie J diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, is deaf in her right ear

Jessie J’s hearing and balance problems are caused by a syndrome that affects the inner ear, the singer announced on Instagram Live over the weekend.

She is struggling to hear with her right ear, she said.

“I woke up and felt completely deaf in my right ear, I couldn’t walk in a straight line,” explained Jessie J of the symptoms she experienced. “Basically, I was told that I had Ménière’s syndrome.”

The “Bang Bang” singer, 32, continued her explanation, adding: “I know that a lot of people suffer from it and, in fact, a lot of people came to me and gave me great advice, so I was’ silent.”

Ménière’s disease can occur at any age, but it is usually seen in young and middle-aged adults and “is a disorder of the inner ear that can cause dizziness (vertigo) and hearing loss,” according to the Mayo Clinic. “In most cases, Ménière’s disease affects only one ear.”

The British artist did not care about the setback and told her fans not to worry because it could be worse.

“It is what it is,” she said. “I am very grateful for my health. It just baffled me. On Christmas Eve, I was in the hospital by ear and asked, ‘What’s going on? But I am grateful to have arrived early and they found out what was very fast. “
