Alex Trebek’s son, Matthew Trebek, is opening up about the precious good he kept to remember the late “Jeopardy!” host.
Matthew, 31, revealed the only piece of clothing his father left for him before the question and answer program host died in November after a pancreatic cancer attack. He was 80 years old.
“I kept a tie that my mom gave my dad. As far as clothes are concerned, that was probably the most important item,” Matthew told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday. “Almost everything, since” Jeopardy! “, He went to The Doe Fund, and now we only have his closet here at home. “I grew up watching him on TV and seeing him well dressed,” he said. “That was a way I obviously saw him. And then, being with him around the house, he was very casual, very dressed.”
“He worked a lot for the house, so most of his [clothes], it would be jeans and a t-shirt. Many jeans and T-shirts had holes. Completely different from what he looked like on TV, “explained Matthew.
In the midst of his father’s death, less than six months ago, Matthew has donated the book “Jeopardy!” From your late father. suits for the nonprofit organization and said the idea for doing so came from one of the program’s producers.

Last month, Trebek’s widow and Matthew’s mother, Jean Trebek, also praised Matthew for his efforts in an Instagram post.
“I sincerely thank my son, Matthew, and his great idea of donating his father’s suits to @thedoefund,” she wrote. “I had never heard of this incredible organization until Matt caught my eye … it really is so wonderful. It warms my heart to know that Alex’s suits will be donated to such an important cause.”
