Alex Trebek’s family is paying in advance.
The last “Jeopardy!” The presenter’s wardrobe was donated by the program and his family to The Doe Fund, according to a press release obtained by People magazine.
Through its website, The Doe Fund, an organization that provides resources and opportunities to combat homelessness, incarceration and recidivism.
The donation included 15 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 ties, 25 polo shirts, 14 sweaters, 15 belts, nine sports jackets, nine pairs of dress shoes, two parkas and three pairs of dress pants.

“During his last day on the set, Alex extolled the virtues of everyone opening their hands and their hearts to those who are suffering,” said Mike Richards, executive producer of “Jeopardy!” “Donating your wardrobe to those who are working to rebuild their lives is the perfect way to start honoring that latest request.”

The statement also said the donation was made by Trebek’s son Matthew, a longtime fan of The Doe Fund.
The clothes will be delivered to participants in the organization’s re-entry program for use in job interviews.
“We are very grateful for the gift of the Trebek family to the men we serve. Our programs provide the skills for men to get jobs and become self-sufficient after devastating setbacks, but we are always in need of business attire to give them an extra leg up. We know that Alex is looking at us with contempt and smiling, “said Doe Fund President Harriet McDonald in a statement to Fox News.

In one of his final opening statements for the program before his death, Trebek asked fans to give back to their communities.
“Hello, ladies and gentlemen, do you remember that about a month ago, I asked all of you to take a moment to thank for all the blessings you enjoy in your lives”, he started in a pre-recorded episode that aired in January. “Today, a different kind of message.”
Trebek continued: “This is ‘the time for giving’, I know you want to be generous with your family, your friends, your loved ones, but today I would like you to take it a step further.”

He asked fans to “open” their hands and hearts “to those who are still suffering” as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and “people who are suffering without guilt”.

“We are trying to build a more kind and kind society,” continued Trebek. “And if we all contribute a little bit, we will get there.”
The iconic game show host died at the age of 80 on November 8, after a long battle with cancer. Program representatives and The Doe Fund did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
