Jennifer Lopez signs as a deadly killer in the new Netflix movie directed by Niki Caro, The Mother
Jennifer Lopez is joining Netflix in an action feature titled The Mother.
Mulan’s director, Niki Caro, is in talks to run the project, Deadline reported on Monday.
Lopez, 51, will play a deadly assassin in the story, following the lines of Luc Besson’s classic, The Professional.

The singing sensation plays a killer who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years ago, while running away from dangerous men, reports the website.
The script was written by Misha Green, from Lovecraft Country, and reviewed by Andrea Berloff, from Straight Outta Compton.
Lopez is co-producing the project.
Also underway for the actress is an adaptation of Isabella Maldonado’s novel The Cipher, where she will play an FBI agent who gets involved in the case of a serial killer after he leaves clues to his online murders. This movie is also coming from Netflix.

Also in progress is the Lionsgate rom-com Shotgun Wedding, where Lopez will star alongside Josh Duhamel, who replaced the original protagonist, Armie Hammer, last month amid his alleged cannibalism scandal.
Hitmaker Waiting For Tonight will also appear in Marry Me, another romantic comedy opposite Owen Wilson, which is due for release on May 14.
Meanwhile, Lopez was excited about his performance in the possession of Joe Biden last month.
And her fiance, Alex Rodriguez, was impressed by her appearance, calling her ‘iconic’.

Hitmaker On the Floor was among the singers during the ceremony when President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office and her fiance couldn’t be more proud of her.
He shared a photo of himself and Jennifer in a private jet on the way home after the event and wrote: ‘I can’t stop thinking about Wednesday and Jen’s performance at # Inauguration2021 It was such an iconic moment – one I will never go to forget.
