She hoped to inspire impersonating videos with a Twitter challenge, but it didn’t go as expected.
Jennifer Lopez celebrated the 20th anniversary of her album “J.Lo” in style this weekend, recreating the now infamous “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” music video two decades later.
“Happy 20th anniversary of my second album J.Lo !!!! I had a little fun in a recent session”, she subtitles a video on social media showing her walking along the beach to the music, taking off her clothes in the sand.

Among the hashtags she used was #LoveDontCostAThingChallenge, which she also shared on Twitter. “The #LoveDontCostAThingChallenge STARTS NOW !!!!” she tweeted excitedly. “I can’t wait to see your interpretations.”
She didn’t have many recreations, however – and the answers she did get were absolutely hilarious.
“It’s not a trash challenge,” joked a follower who retweeted the video – a post that accumulated 82,000 likes. “Do you want us all to run to the beach in a pan de queso for our friends to film us throwing away good jewels? I’m so confused,” read another answer that he liked more than 22,000 times.
“Jlo, should we throw our valuables on the beach?” another fan joked. “The challenge is to find it after playing it, why can’t we replace it?!? What are the instructions?!?! ???
“Girl, it’s too cold for that,” posted another follower – while a follower added: “We’re in a panini, we haven’t received our second stimulus yet and you want us to go out and throw our shit out in the sand?!?”
Searching the hashtag on Twitter, a ton of tweets appeared simply commenting on the lack of recreation … or people waiting for interpretations of Nick Cannon’s dance moves in the movie “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”.

There were, however, a few videos on Instagram – including one that traded white sands for snow.
