Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez stayed up all night talking after the Page Six’s bombshell report that they broke up and, on Saturday morning, released a vague statement stating that they are “sorting out some things”.
“All reports are inaccurate. We are working on some things, ”said the two in a statement obtained by Page Six.
The statement did not specifically acknowledge whether the mega-stars, collectively known as “J-Rod”, are still a couple – or even still engaged.
“They are trying to work things out … but it is not clear whether that means they are going to be together,” said a source close to the couple.
It was not immediately clear what it was all about, but the power duo, who have a range of business interests together, are figuring out how to split up their vast assets, sources said.
The two remain geographically separate. A source told us on Friday about the duo: “He is now in Miami getting ready for the baseball season and she is filming her film in the Dominican Republic.”
A source close to the stars added: “They have been separated and are having problems that couples tend to have.”
The same source told us about the impressive report that the couple was breaking up: “Did they change their minds? Page six may be responsible for bringing them back. “
The stars, who have been dating for about four years, announced their engagement in 2019, but postponed the wedding twice, blaming the pandemic of COVID-19. Lopez recently revealed that she and Rodriguez saw a therapist while they were quarantined.
The two were having difficulties in their relationship in the weeks leading up to the separation, sources said.
“In the past two weeks they have not been together and in the past few days they have not been well,” say the sources. “They have been having some crazy problems.”
A source adds that Lopez, 51, “recently got really upset on the set” of his latest film, “Shotgun Wedding”, which is being shot in the Dominican Republic.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, is at his home in Miami.
Sources exclusively told Page Six that Lopez and Rodriguez were preparing to tell their children about the separation on Friday afternoon, after Page Six called to comment.
Lopez shares 12-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez is the father of two daughters, Natasha and Ella, with ex-Cynthia Scurtis. J.Lo also posted a photo on his daughter’s social media apparently crying and leaning on her father Marc Anthony, with the caption “When they are sad, but mom and dad are there”. It is not clear whether the post was related to the separation.
Meanwhile, the problem in paradise came after rumors that A-Rod had been FaceTiming with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy. Sources close to the baseball legend sparked rumors from The Post last month, saying, “He doesn’t know this woman.”
LeCroy, however, admitted that the couple “spoke on the phone” but “never met” Page Six. LeCroy made no comment when Page Six contacted her on Friday.
Sources close to A-Rod and J.Lo are adamant that LeCroy’s rumors have not caused the recent rift between the couple.
A source told Page Six on Friday: “There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed about it.”
