JBL prepares SA750 superintegrated with Dirac Live

Sir would you like to have an integrated amplifier with teak coating to match your JBL L100 Classic 75 speakers? Also announced today by JBL is the superintegrated SA750 whose aluminum front panel and robust control set look as retro as its iconic speaker.

The SA750 accepts the Arcam (also owned by Harman) to establish a Class G amplification base for 120wpc at 8 Ohms and 220wpc at 4 Ohms. Class G means that the amplifier handles low-level signals in Class A, but requires an additional power supply when the music gets louder.

At the top of the amplifier section is an MM / MC phono stage and a high resolution DAC / MQA that can be powered by 2 x TOSLINK, 2 x coax, USB for removable media or the internal Ethernet / Wifi network streamer that supports UPnP and Roon. USB for third-party streamers? Spotify Connect? Tidal Connect? JBL doesn’t say.

The second nod of the Arcam manual is the presence of the Dirac Live room calibration, which allows users to adapt the speaker output to better suit the room’s acoustics.

The SA750’s feature set is complemented by a 2-line ‘orange’ front panel display, 3.5mm auxiliary input and 3.5mm headphone output.

Oh – the analog outputs are supposed to number 6 x single-ended RCA pairs, but the single render image (above) showing only the front panel suggests that the SA750 has not yet been finalized and that more information about its feature set specifications will come closer to the projected shipping date of May 2021. Price? $ 3000.
