Among the crowd of Trump supporters urged by the president who invaded the United States Capitol on Wednesday, was a man wearing a furry hat with horns and a face painted in red, white and blue. He was identified as Jake Angeli, the “QAnon Shaman” who was, according to the Arizona Republic, was a regular at Trump rallies for quite some time. More than a few people on social media yesterday commented on their similarity, at least in silhouette, with Jamiroquai vocalist Jay Kay, as seen on the band’s debut album in 1993, Emergency on Planet Earth. Jamiroquai was hot on Twitter because of that.
Jay Kay took to Twitter Thursday morning just to let fans know that QAnon Shaman was not Space Cowboy. “Good morning Washington, I’m loving the helmet, but I’m not sure it’s my group,” he wrote, adding in the video: “Some of you may be thinking that you saw me in Washington last night, but I’m afraid I wasn’t with all those freaks. ”
He continues to thank for his recent birthday wishes – he turned 51 on December 30 – and to note that he is relaxing in the blockade in the UK. “COVID 19 still in progress, UK in confinement. However, the way we treat our animals – raising them, caging them, everything else – we will continue to receive it again and again, so hopefully I will try to learn our lesson. “
