Jared Leto finally responded to the rumor alleging that he sent a dead rat to Margot Robbie during the filming of the 2016 Suicide Squad movie.

The 49-year-old actor recently appeared in a video for GQ, where he discussed the effort he made to portray various characters throughout his career.

The artist also commented directly on the old rumor that he delivered a dead animal to his 30-year-old castmate while he was in the character The Joker.

During the video, Leto bluntly stated: ‘I never gave Margot Robbie a dead rat, that is not true.’

Then he commented that, on the contrary, he sent the actress numerous pastels during the production of the film.

“Actually, I gave her a lot … I found a place in Toronto that had great vegan cinnamon bread … so that was a very common thing,” he said.

The actor added: ‘It’s funny how all these things take on a life of their own.’

The rumor initially emerged from a 2016 interview for Shortlist, where Robbie, who played Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad, commented that she was ‘surprised’ when Leto allegedly sent her the animal.

It was also specified in the article that the rat was alive when it was received by the actress.

Actress I, Tonya then explained how happy she was to have collaborated with the 30 Seconds To Mars singer.

In the video, the actor from Clube da Luta commented on the enduring quality of O Joker and commented that he saw the character as something that could be experienced.

The actor noted, ‘It’s this generation’s version of, like, taking on an infamous Shakespeare character, a lot of people have played it before, a lot of people are going to play it in the future.’

He also expressed that he was happy to have had a chance to try something new with the character and stated that the team found the whole experience enjoyable.

“It is an opportunity to do something new and explore challenging territory, and we have a lot of fun with it,” he added.
