Jared Leto clarified speculations about his behavior on the set while making the 2016 film Suicide squad.
The actor took on the role of the Joker in the DC movie, although co-star Viola Davis stated at the time of the release that he sent a dead pig to his castmates, as well as a live black rat to Margot Robbie.

Slipknot actor Adam Bleach also claimed in 2015 that Leto sent bullets to Will Smith in a letter, while producer Charles Roven said Leto wanted to be referred to as’ Mr. J ‘on set.
Addressing the claims in a new interview with GQ, Leto clarified: “It is also interesting how all this takes on a life of its own. I never gave Margot Robbie a dead rat. This is not true. I actually gave her a lot – I found a place in Toronto that had great vegan cinnamon rolls, and that was a very common thing. “
Leto also described the work in Suicide squad as “an incredible opportunity”, adding: “I think this generation’s version of taking on an infamous Shakespearean character. Many people played the role before, many people [will play] in the future, then it is an opportunity to do something new and explore challenging territory. “
He added of being part of a big franchise: “There is a lot of pressure when you are part of these big films. Just forget about the character for a second – when you’re part of these giant films, they inherently come with more responsibility, it seems. “
Leto continued: “I made mostly smaller films […] So that was like a step into a whole new world. But it was a lot of fun. There was a kind of mutual respect and support on the set, and just a feeling of camaraderie. I get a little bit separated because I feel like my character was separate. But it was great to hear the laughter and camaraderie that abounded on the set. “
Leto must repeat his role as the Joker in the next version of Zack Synder’s Justice League, who recently debuted a new trailer that showed a glimpse of his character.
About that, Suicide squad is scheduled to be restarted by James Gunn, the director recently confirming that his film is “fully finished and cut”.
