Jared Goff of Los Angeles Rams, QB, hurts thumb, may not play in Week 17

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff expressed uncertainty about whether to play at the end of the regular season after suffering a thumb injury on Sunday in his 20-9 loss at the Seattle Seahawks.

“I’m not sure,” said Goff when asked if he could play next Sunday at home against the Arizona Cardinals. “We will see.”

Sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Rams fear Goff’s thumb is broken and that he will undergo further tests in LA on Monday.

“I got it right [a] helmet there sometime in the third quarter and put it back in place and the game is over, “said Goff.

Goff said that his thumb didn’t bother him after that.

The Rams (9-6) lost two consecutive games for the first time this season, but can guarantee a playoff spot with a victory against the Cardinals (8-7) or a Green Bay Packers victory at the Chicago Bears (8-7) in week 17.
