Janice Dickinson says Bella, Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner ‘are not supermodels’

Former “America’s Next Top Model” judge Janice Dickinson is casting criticism beyond the TV screen.

Dickinson said models like Gigi and Bella Hadid, as well as Kylie Jenner, “don’t compare” to models of their time during Thursday’s podcast episode “Behind The Velvet Rope”.

“The Instagram models that get famous and are put on Vogue, Kylie Jenners and Gigi Hadids and Bella Hadids. I mean, they are very beautiful women, but they are not supermodels,” said Dickinson.

The previous model credited the models’ success to her follow-up on social networks and not to her look or ability to walk the catwalk.

“Vogue uses them because they have millions and millions and millions of followers,” said Dickinson.

“They have an appearance. They don’t really diversify their movements. They just stay there and get millions of dollars. They’re not fierce hikers, are you kidding me? In my day, there was Pat Cleveland and Iman, who you never wanted to follow in track. “

Host David Yontef told Dickinson that perhaps Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner (although Dickinson only discussed Kylie) need to call her for help.

“At least send me a thank you card for all the money they are making,” said Dickinson.

She added: “You know what girls, there is always criticism in this industry, and you better work.”

Working does not seem to be a problem for the Hadid sisters. They were seen most recently during the Versace 2021 fall / winter show on March 5. The Versace show was Gigi’s postpartum debut after hosting a girl in September with former “One Direction” student Zayn Malik.

As for Jenners, Kylie and Kendall recently launched a clothing line in collaboration with Amazon. The collection included pieces such as matching tie-dye leisure clothes and stylish overalls that were intended to be an affordable and modern selection inspired by her sister’s street style.
