Janet Yellen, Jerome Powell of the Fed testifies about the relief of COVID-19, economy

Federal Reserve President Jerome Powell and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen returned to the Capitol to report on the progress of COVID-19’s relief efforts on the second day of testimony.

While Powell assured lawmakers that inflation will rise but will not get out of hand, Yellen hinted that the next tax hikes scared financial markets on Tuesday. It reiterated more on the same Wednesday, especially a higher corporate tax rate.

STOCKS BATTLE HIGHER, INTEL LEADS DOW

The stock rose on Wednesday, with the exception of Nasdaq Composite.
