Janet Jackson is feeling the love on social media!
Recently, the legendary singer became a trend topic after the release of “Framing Britney Spears”, an episode of The New York Times Presents docu-series that highlighted Britney Spears‘rise to fame and how she ended up in guardianship.
So, how does Janet fit into all of this? Two words: Justin Timberlake.
In the light of “Framing Britney Spears”, the first NSYNC member faced adverse reactions to the way he handled his breakup with the “Gimme More” singer in 2002. Furthermore, with the Super Bowl game on February 7, many could not help but be reminded of JT’s controversial Halftime Show with the “Rhythm Nation” star in 2004. At the time, Janet was the only one under pressure for performance.
After receiving criticism, Justin apologized to Britney and Janet for their “ignorance” and for how their “actions contributed to the problem”.
Following his apology, many fans shared their support for female icons, and it seems that Janet is aware of everything that is happening.

On Friday, February 12th, Tinashe praised the singer “All for You” on Twitter, writing, “Anyone who knows me knows Britney Spears and Janet Jackson are literally my two greatest idols in the entire universe and I just hope that they know how much they mean to me / us.”
When a follower asked the 28-year-old singer what her favorite Janet song was, she answered, “The velvet string album is my favorite album of all time.”
Shortly after, the legend itself jumped into the comment section and responded to Tinashe’s post with a black heart emoji and a hug emoji.
“We love you, Queen,” Tinashe replied with a crown emoji and a red heart emoji.
Janet’s reaction may have been subtle, but fans took it as a sign that she is aware of what is going on. However, at this point, the Black Diamond singer is keeping her thoughts and feelings about the whole ordeal for herself.
In 2006, Janet talked about her and Justin’s Super Bowl performance in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying, “I think they put all the emphasis on me, as opposed to us.”
During the interview, she told the talk show host that she had yet to hear from the “SexyBack” singer – someone with whom she not only had a professional relationship, but considered her a friend. “Friendship is very important to me,” shared Janet, “and certain things you just don’t do with friends. In my own time, I’ll call him.”
When Oprah asked if Janet thought Justin had left her “hanging out,” she replied, “To some extent.”
In 2018, Justin was invited to head the Super Bowl halftime show, while Janet was not welcome on football’s biggest night.

In his apology, the “Cry Me a River” singer acknowledged how his silence about the scandal speaks for itself.
“I deeply regret the time in my life when my actions contributed to the problem, when I spoke out of turn or did not defend what was right,” he wrote on Instagram on February 12. “I understand that I fell short in those moments and in many others and benefited from a system that tolerates misogyny and racism.”
“I want to apologize specifically to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson individually, because I care and respect these women and I know I failed,” he continued, “I also feel compelled to respond, in part, because everyone involved deserves better and most importantly , because this is a broader conversation in which I wholeheartedly wish to be a part and grow. “
“Because of my ignorance, I didn’t recognize for everything that was going on in my own life, but I never want to benefit from being pulled down again. I haven’t been perfect at navigating all of that over the course of my career,” . “I know that this apology is a first step and does not absolve the past. I want to take responsibility for my own mistakes in all of this, as well as being part of a world that uplifts and supports.”
He concluded: “I care deeply about the well-being of the people I love and loved. I can do better and I will do better.”
