South Carolina transfer and new Florida state defense Jammie Robinson lost his home in a fire on Thursday night, he tweeted on Friday morning. Robinson said his mother was not injured in the fire.
“Crazy news I received last night”, Robinson wrote in a tweet. “Our house caught on fire and we lost everything. I’m glad my mother Satarius Monson is safe and well. I love you mom. “
Leaving Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia, in the 2019 recruitment course, Robinson was a three-star candidate and number 32 in security in the country. He had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky, but he preferred Gamecocks. In his two years in South Carolina, Robinson made a solid name for himself.
In two years, Robinson played 22 matches, 13 of them. He totaled 136 tackles, 3.5 of which were for loss, and two interceptions in his time in South Carolina. Robinson was a second Freshman All-American team that year and joined the 2019 All-SEC Freshman Team. Last season, Robinson totaled 74 tackles, two of which were for loss, an interception and four pass separations.

Robinson is one of four transfers that will join the Seminoles in 2021. Next to Robinson will be the cornerback Brandon Moore UCF, defensive striker Keir Thomas, also from South Carolina, and DJ Williams, which was transferred from Auburn. As the second year of the Norvell era approaches, transfers can help the team succeed.

The state of Florida struggled last year, the first year of the Norvell era, going 3-6. The Seminoles were able to drop North Carolina’s No. 5 surprisingly in mid-October, but then had three consecutive defeats. Florida State ended with a 21 point win over Duke before COVID-19 knocked out their last game of the season.
