Jamie Lynn Spears blames Tesla for the death of her pet cats, claiming that the car’s silent engine caused accidents.
“I know there are simply bigger things to worry about in the world right now, but someone needs to inform Elon Musk that Tesla is a secret cat killer and is a problem that we really have to fix,” Magnolias Sweets star said about the company’s CEO in a deleted social media video posted by TMZ. “Now we lose – I don’t even mean how many cats – because they don’t hear Tesla’s crank and unfortunate things happen and it’s really devastating and tragic for everyone involved.”
Jamie Lynn, who is the younger sister of Britney Spears, explained that the electric car’s silent feature scared her cats. She did not explain exactly what happened, only that the situations ended badly. “So, because Tesla is so quiet, maybe he could make one of those noises that bother the ears of cats or animals when he starts it, so that they know something is up and don’t get caught off guard and things don’t end in a very tragic way, ”she said.
Unlike gas-powered cars, electric vehicles don’t make a lot of noise, providing a more peaceful experience for the driver. However, the feature can put at risk people with visual impairments who rely on sounds to navigate the streets safely. According New York Times, new regulations last September require U.S. electric cars to make noise when moving below 18.6 miles per hour.
“So, Elon Musk, let’s get this sorted out,” she said. “I mean, you owe me some cats. And yes, I am fully aware that there is some user error involved in this, but I’m just saying, you know, collaborate, save the lives of some cats. “
She then wrote “RIP Turkey” in a video with her daughter Ivey, 2. “Turkey, your kitten, went where?” asked the mother. The child, who she shares with her husband Jamie Watson, seems to say: “Turkey went to Jesus”. Jamie Lynn also has a daughter named Maddie, 12, with former partner Casey Aldridge.
Later, Jamie Lynn shared an update on the “misleading” reaction to his video. “Not that it matters, but this is a little misleading,” she captioned a screenshot of an Instagram story.
“I didn’t run over any cats,” she wrote. “Tesla is not to be blamed and he never intended to be. User error is known to be involved. We always check for animals before moving a vehicle. “
She added: “I was just making a suggestion about something that I think would be extremely useful, and the @Teslamotors geniuses are the best to turn to on this issue.”
In another photo posted by Jamie Lynn, she wrote: “Here is your quote. I fucking love my Teslamotors. “
