Jamie Lee Curtis ‘signed on to appear alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart in the next film adaptation of Borderlands’

It looks like Jamie Lee Curtis will be spending time in Pandora’s wasteland.

According to Collider, the 62-year-old actress recently signed a contract to appear in the film adaptation of the video game Borderlands.

The project directed by Eli Roth has already signed with Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart to appear in two of the main roles of the future film.

Chernobyl screenwriter Craig Mazin was hired to write the script for the film.

Curtis will portray Tannis, an archaeologist who may have vital information about a legendary vault full of futuristic weapons and technology.

Your character also has a contentious history with Lilith, which will be played by Blanchett.

Hart will play the role of Roland, a super soldier who has participated in several games throughout the franchise’s history.

In a statement, Roth expressed enthusiasm for bringing the Halloween actress to the cast of the next film.

The 48-year-old director said: ‘Working with the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis has been a dream of my life, and I am very excited that she brings her mood, warmth and shine to the role of Tannis.’

Lionsgate Motion Pictures Group President Nathan Kahane spoke about adding the actress to the cast and commenting on her skills as an artist.

“Jamie is unique because his characters are deep and serious, but they are also always a lot of fun – she runs the screen,” he said.

Kahane added: ‘The kind of talent we managed to gather for Borderlands is proof of Craig’s incredible script and Eli’s vision for Pandora.’

The development of the film adaptation of the video game series was first announced in 2015, and Saw’s co-creator Leigh Whannell was originally in negotiations to direct the film.

Roth signed on to run the project last year; it currently does not have a set release date.

The original Borderlands video game was released in 2009 and received positive critical attention for its gameplay and storyline.

The series currently has four main entries, in addition to a mobile game and an episodic series developed by the now closed studio Telltale Games.

Several novels and comics were released with various characters and scenarios from the franchise.
