James A. Harper, 65, of New Castle passed away at his home on February 20, 2021.
James was born on November 7, 1955, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Charles Harper Sr. and Helen (Mundziak) Harper.
He was married to ex-Melanie Davis. She survives at home.
James graduated in 1973 from New Castle High School.
James retired from Ellwood Quality Steel as a laboratory technician. After retirement, he worked part-time for Bruce and Merrilees.
When he wasn’t working, he liked to do projects around the house and spend time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, James leaves his daughters, D’Anna Harper, Esq, of South Carolina, and Jamie (Joshua) Vitale of New Castle; stepchildren, Stephanie Davis, Gino Print and Antonio Print; grandchildren, Jude and Juliet Vitale, from New Castle; brothers, Charles Harper of Alabama and Thomas (Brenda) Harper of New Castle; and sister, Charlene (Dr.Craig) Slater, from South Carolina.
James was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David P. Harper.
A private service will be held on Wednesday at Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 Mill St., New Castle.
The burial will be at the Oak Park cemetery.
