After weeks of rumors, the Brooklyn Nets struck a deal with former NBA MVP James Harden to give the Nets a third superstar to go along with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. While we have to wait to see the three occupy the position at the same time, the Saturday night game offers fans the opportunity to see Harden and Durant in action. After two quarters of play in Brooklyn, it is the Nets who have a small advantage over Magic, as Harden registered eight points, seven assists and five rebounds in the first 24 minutes.
After the exchange of four blockbuster teams that was agreed on Wednesday, the Nets have been the subject of the association and will now have to prove that this trio can live up to the hype. Saturday night’s clash against Magic will not give the basketball world a real sense of what the Nets are capable of, as they will still be without Irving, but Harden and Durant still provide much intrigue on their own.
