James Harden insisted on Friday that he did not disrespect anyone when he wanted to leave the Houston Rockets and forced a switch to the Brooklyn Nets.
Harden made it clear after his last game with Houston that it would not work with the Rockets and he was not confident that the team could compete for a title, and less than 24 hours after these comments to the media, he was traded the Nets in a blockbuster of four teams.
During his introductory press conference, Harden said he did not feel disrespectful.

“I wasn’t disrespectful to anyone. Those guys had just arrived in Houston, I’ve been there a long time. I’ve been through all the ups and downs with that organization. And I wasn’t disrespectful to anyone,” said Harden, through New York. Post.
“I just commented that the team as a whole was not good enough to dispute a title. And at this stage of my career that I am in, this is what I would love. So, I was not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, especially to and I’m excited to be here in Brooklyn and looking forward to a new start.

Brooklyn hopes the lineup will soon include Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the track at the same time. Irving is about to return to the team after his mysterious absences, but will not be available to play when Harden makes his debut on Saturday night.
Harden explained why he wanted to go to Brooklyn.

“Obviously, you have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the team, and then, surrounded by these guys, you have really good pieces in DeAndre (Jordan), Jeff (Green), snipers in Joe (Harris) and Landry (Shamet)”, he said, through the team’s website.
“Just look at this whole list and it was created for any style of basketball you want. And then the technical team, who knows the game of basketball at a high level. Just add all that and it’s like, this is a legitimate chance there . It was a no-brainer for me. “
