James Corden marks Donald Trump as a “lunatic” who “kidnapped” America after a shameful revolt

James Corden assessed the shameful situation in America after the inexcusable rebellion carried out by supporters of Donald Trump.

Supporters of MAGA invaded the United States Capitol in scenes described as “the closest to a coup attempt this country has ever seen”.

One woman was shot dead by police during clashes inside the Capitol building and three others died on Wednesday night in Washington.

The historic building was forced into blockade and the National Guard had to be called in to restore order.

And now the former Gavin & Stacey star has given his opinion on the worrying confusion that was displayed in America on Wednesday.

James Corden says the US has been “kidnapped” by a “lunatic and his crazy army” in the past four years

James started The Late Late Show by addressing chaos in a bleak opening monologue while giving his opinion on the subject.

Furthermore, James said the United States had been “kidnapped” by a “lunatic and his crazy army” for the past four years in a powerful speech after the shameful uprising.

The actor went on to describe the shocking events as “a crazy and sad day, a day that will be dark in America’s long history”.

James also highlighted an important aspect of the Capitol riots, adding that if these Trump supporters had been supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, they would have been shot to death.

“We all sit today glued to the photos of Trump supporters invading the capital and fighting with the police, shouting in Congressional chambers or taking a glaring selfie as they sit with their feet up in the government office,” he said.

“Then, on the pretext of trying to calm the situation, his hero, President Trump, released a message to tell those supporters that they are special and ‘we love them’.

“I would not like to imagine your treatment or response to these people if they were wearing BLM hats instead of the red MAGA hats.”

He added: “I started to think that when the dust settles and we reflect on what happened on this terrible day, we still have hope, because I think that if there is one thing we can have after the last month in this country, it is hope.”

Londoner James added that he grew up as a “stranger” who admired the United States, which made him even more shocked to see events in the capital.

Despite showing his disgust at how to deal with the disturbances, James assured fans that the change is coming as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris prepare to move to the White House.

“Because in two weeks on these same stages, where that crowd fought and pushed the police, Joe Biden will be sworn in as president of the United States,” continued James.

“In two weeks, when that mob fought and pushed the police, Kamala Harris will be sworn in as vice president of the United States.”

James gave fans a message of hope by saying that “change is coming”

James continued: “And in two weeks on those same steps where that crowd fought and pushed the police, the people who encouraged and instigated that violence, Donald Trump, his children, Rudy Giuliani, they will all need a tourist pass to get in because they lost the presidency, they lost the house and now they lost the senate …

“Today was their last dance at the worst party that any of us has ever been, so if you can, hope … We have seen in recent weeks in America that votes count, change is coming, science is real, a the vaccine is on its way.

“I really believe that better times are ahead.”
