Piers Morgan’s impromptu departure from “Good Morning Britain” after his controversial comments about Megan Markle generated reactions on Twitter from entertainment and media figures, marked by a general feeling of “good travel”.
Morgan resigned shortly after British media regulator Ofcom launched an investigation into his comments on Markle in Monday’s broadcast. He said he did not believe in Markle’s mental health difficulties, which she revealed during her and Prince Harry’s interview with CBS with Oprah Winfrey. She said the royal institution did not support her when she asked for help due to suicidal thoughts and high stress due to life in the monarchy.
ITV confirmed in a statement late on Tuesday that it accepted Morgan’s decision to leave “Good Morning Britain”.
British actress Jameela Jamil, who has long championed mental health, wrote on Twitter about her own experience of verbal abuse by Morgan. “I almost killed myself a year ago because of Piers Morgan’s campaign of lies and hatred against me last February. I am happy that I am still alive today for many reasons. “
TW: suicide
I almost killed myself a year ago because of Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hatred against me last February. I am happy that I am still alive today for many reasons. But watching him leave the GMB today is something that makes me feel: pic.twitter.com/reygXIMhP9

While many were happy to say goodbye to the controversial host, others, like Sharon Osbourne, came to Morgan’s defense. “People forget that you get paid for your opinion and that you’re just telling the truth,” she wrote on Twitter.
. @piersmorgan I’m with you. I’m in your side. People forget that you get paid for your opinion and that you are just speaking your truth.

Morgan is known for his controversial opinions, which have consolidated him as one of the most well-known personalities in the media. He is a frequent opponent of “canceling culture” in the media, causing several people to point out the irony of his abrupt departure. George Takei noted, tweeting, “Piers Morgan apparently canceled.”
Piers Morgan apparently canceled. Cancel the culture!

The best part of Piers Morgan’s self-destructive collapse is that the co-host who called him live on TV was calm, methodical and attentive, while being completely wild. It was a masterful lesson on how to take down a bully.

Even if the only thing the Oprah interview can achieve is Piers Morgan giving up on his program, it will still be a victory.

The Piers Morgan thing is like when that ragged senator shouted “You lie!” on Obama. It is surprised racism that cannot escape with disrespect. That’s it. They wouldn’t do that to Kate. They didn’t do that to Trump.

I feel compelled to share that the quote from P * ers Morgan tweeted to criticize my support for Meghan THREE MINUTES after my posting. It is a disturbing misogynistic obsession that is familiar to many of us.

there is a special place in hell for abusers who choose and choose when to change their truth to something reasonable, so it always makes you feel crazy and crazy. So acid.
Piers is a sticky asshole. God, I hate him. Goodbye

Meghan Markle turned Piers Morgan into a ghost after dinner. He lived in his head without paying rent for years. And then he got him fired without even trying. This is an epic talent.
