Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was cautious in discussing whether Jamal Adams could play Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams after suffering a left shoulder injury last Sunday.
Adams himself? Not much.
What we learned: Seahawks’ best move was one they didn’t make
“No doubt in my mind – I’m playing, man,” said Pro Bowl’s strong safety during a news conference on Wednesday. “Look, as long as those legs are moving, man, as long as my faith is in the man up there, who is very strong, I will be outside. I never had any doubts that I wasn’t playing, so let’s put that out – I’m in full swing. ”
Injuries have been a big story in Adams’ season, but it hasn’t stopped him from being one of Seattle’s best defensive players. He lost four games in the first half of the year with a groin injury and later played with a bruised right shoulder and two broken fingers. Despite this, he registered 9.5 sacks for the Seahawks, who not only led the team but set a quarterback record in one season.
Carroll spoke most recently about Adams’ status on Tuesday, reporting that Seattle would not determine whether he could play until Saturday.
“He’s going to work during the week and see what he can do and how well he is doing,” said Carroll. “We will have to wait all the way until game day to find out.”
Luke Willson back on the Seahawks active list
In other news on Wednesday, tight end Luke Willson was hired from the Seahawks training team and added to the active squad, with cornerback Jayson Stanley going on reserve due to a hamstring injury sustained in Week 16.
Willson has had a busy season, at least when it comes to changes in the squad. He started the 2020 campaign with the Seahawks, playing five games before it launched in November. He then joined Baltimore for three games, making a reception on three 12-yard targets, but was eliminated in December. He returned to Seattle for his third stint with the team last week as a team signing workout.
