Alabama football fans will always claim Jalen Hurts as their own.
He may have ended his university career in Oklahoma, but he graduated from the University of Alabama and was a full-back defender for Crimson Tide for two seasons. During those two years, he broke records, won games, showed incredible leadership and showed Tide fans the fun of having a two-threat defender.
In his third year, he grew up to be a very solid passer – despite being a reserve.
He kept pace with Maré for two Southeast Conference titles, including one in 2018, where he stepped off the bench for an injured Tua Tagovailoa and guided the team to a 35-28 comeback victory. He was also part of the Alabama 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship team.
Hurts has done great things for the Philadelphia Eagles and intends to take the franchise to new heights.
With the CFP title game on Monday night, the Texan native is in Miami (Florida) supporting his Alma mater. Nick Saban has always referred to the Hurts as a great competitor, and now one of Crimson Tide’s greatest ambassadors is looking forward to rooting for his former coach for his seventh national title.
