Jake Angeli, Capitol rebel with horned helmet, arrested by the feds

Federal agents arrested the disorderly man seen wearing a horned cap and holding a spear during Wednesday’s riot on Capitol Hill.

Arizona resident Jacob Anthony Chansley, 33, also known as Jake Angeli, was arrested on Saturday, officials announced.

The shirtless Chansley – who apparently followed style tips from the moose lodge and “Conan the Barbarian” – “was identified as the man seen on media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress , red, white and blue face paint, no shirt and beige pants, ”Justice Department officials said in a statement.

“This individual carried a spear approximately 1.8 meters long, with an American flag tied just below the blade,” added the feds.

Chansley – who appears in images of Wednesday’s chaos pumping his biceps on the Senate chamber podium – has been accused of intentionally entering or remaining in any restricted building or land without legal authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds .

“The fact that we have a bunch of our traitors in the office crouching, putting on their gas masks and retreating to their underground bunker, I consider that a victory,” Chansley, identified as Angeli, told NBC News after the turmoil.

Chansley, who is known as “QAnon Shaman” or “Q Shaman”, is a diehard Trump supporter who has participated in previous events on the far right and is known for his support for the unfounded QAnon conspiracy theory according to MSN.

The Justice Department also confirmed on Saturday the arrest on Friday of Adam Christian Johnson, who was seen in a viral photo carrying the pulpit of Mayor Nancy Pelosi.

Johnson, 36, of Parrish, Florida, was charged with an accusation of intentionally entering or staying in any restricted building or land without legal authority; an accusation of theft of government property; and an accusation of violent entry and disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.

Derrick Evans, 35, of West Virginia, a freshman member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, was also arrested on Friday. Evans broadcast himself entering the Capitol with the crowd on his Facebook page, shouting as he crossed the threshold: “We’re in, we’re in! Derrick Evans is on the Capitol! “

The District of Columbia Public Prosecutor is processing the cases. Investigations by the FBI Field Office in Washington, the ATF and the Capitol Police continue.
