The luck of the Jaguars has changed dramatically

The Jacksonville Jaguars was fought in the number one overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft. After the Jags lost to the Bears and the Jets won their second game in a row, the first overall choice was guaranteed. The team that has been in defender purgatory for almost their entire existence, has guaranteed the opportunity to prepare the defender of the future for the next decade, at least. However, as much as Jags fans want to focus only on the general first choice; the draft is seven rounds long, and the team has many, many choices to work with this year.

The Jaguars currently have eleven choices in the NFL’s 2021 Draft. Two of them are in the first phase and have four in total in the top 50. Currently, this team has a vacancy in GM and will most likely have a vacancy in the coach soon.

Jacksonville will be the most attractive position for GM and head coach candidates due to the young talent that has been acquired in recent years and the amount of young talent that will be acquired this year. There are many different paths that this team can take, but let’s look at one with this simulated seven-round Jacksonville Jaguars project.

Round 1, choose 1: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

It’s enough to make a Jags fan cry. The team that hasn’t seen a good defender for a long time is now able to cast the guy who can block the position for the next 15 years or more. The card must already be written.

More of With the first choice

There is no reason for the front office to act as if it were considering any other player with this selection. Trevor Lawrence has arm strength, precision, decision-making, athleticism and experience that no team would question. The quarterback is the biggest need, Lawrence is the best player in the class. It is a marriage made in heaven.

The rotation of Gardener Minshew, Jake Luton and Mike Glennon was horrible to watch. With weapons like James Robinson, DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault, this offense should be better; but the defender is preventing them. Adding Lawrence to this offensive genuinely makes them candidates for one of the league’s best units.

Chark is one of the best vertical receivers in the league, Shenault is a YAC monster and Robinson has been a phenomenal find like UDFA. This choice is a no-brainer. Lawrence was the number one overall choice in the NFL’s 2021 Draft on the day he won the National Championship; and that hasn’t changed.
