Jacob deGrom rooting for Lindor, Comfort extensions

The New York Mets is working on extensions for shortstop Francisco Lindor and outside defender Michael Conforto. Both players received initial offers from the Mets, but neither is in a hurry to close the deal.

The Mets would benefit greatly from having Lindor and Comfort on board for years to come, and star pitcher Jacob deGrom is hoping that both players sign extensions with the franchise.

Comfort has spent his entire career with the Mets, cutting 0.259 / 0.358 / 0.484 with 118 home runs and 341 RBI over six seasons. He was named an All-Star in 2017.

Lindor, meanwhile, was acquired by the Mets from the Cleveland Indians during the off-season. He is entering his first season in New York and has already become a fan favorite. In 10 spring training games, he is cutting 0.310 / 0.375 / 0.517 with two home runs and seven RBI.

The Mets reportedly offered Lindor a deal worth just under $ 300 million. However, they are reportedly willing to increase their offer to keep Gold Glover twice.

If Lindor wants a deal similar to that of Fernando Tatis Jr., who signed a $ 340 million contract with the San Diego Padres, things could be difficult for the Mets in the coming months as negotiations continue.

It is unclear how much Mets has offered Comfort.
