Jackie and Evan Goldschneider’s marriage is so strong that they even watched the premiere episode of “RHONJ” together.
“Well, it turned out well,” Jackie told Page Six about watching the episode with Evan.
“I had a lot of guilt because Evan is not a cast member on this show,” she explained. “So his reputation for being at the center of the drama was very unfair to him. I feel like ‘I’m on the show. It must be about me. ‘If it was about me, I could have handled it myself, but it was about him. I felt that he had to be okay with everything for me to be okay with everything. It is not my job to agree to this on his behalf. “
In the Wednesday night episode, Teresa Giudice claimed to friends at Evan’s birthday party that Evan was cheating on Jackie while he was at the gym. Jackie sat down with Giudice at Margaret Josephs’ house to ask why she spread a false rumor, but the conversation ended in an explosion after Jackie compared Giudice’s actions to Jackie spreading the rumor that Giudice’s daughter, Gia, used drugs.
Jackie, 44, added that his biggest concern while watching Evan was how the footage would be edited.
“My main concern was that he was fairly represented and that there was not even a doubt about whether he cheated on me,” she said. “It was never an issue for us. The only reason I was upset was because she tried to spread a rumor – not because I ever questioned my husband. “
Jackie told us that he always believed that his problems with Giudice, 47, would remain on a “petty” level and would never involve their families or get out of control.
“There was no problem with my marriage,” she said. “It all comes down to Teresa having a problem with me; I think that’s where it all comes from. It is a pity that she did not understand my analogy. Obviously, I’m not trying to say anything about anyone’s children, but just the fact that there was such an explosive response to an analogy that used your child’s name … Do you understand, now, how I feel? “
She concluded of the explosion: “The scene at Margaret’s house was a really difficult day for me. That whole week before that – I think it was three or four days before – it was very, very difficult. I never thought that something like this would happen to my family in a public forum. And I was ashamed, I was sad, I felt so bad for Evan – as if I had dragged him into all of this. There was a lot of guilt, a lot of weight on my shoulders.
“That meeting, that particular day, was so heavy. The only thing I can say about it is that I am very, very proud of the way I handled it. In general, I think husbands and children should be banned, but once that happened, I’m proud of the way Evan and I handled everything together. I am proud of us. “
Despite the drama, Jackie would love to remain a “housewife”.
“I feel that this season I have been through a lot and questioned myself a lot,” she said. “But I mean, when it comes to that, I really love and care about the show. I feel like I bring something different and would love to continue if they wanted me. “
