‘Jackass’ Alum Chris Pontius buys remodeled home in Los Angeles

Now that he is in his 40s and with his family in mind, Chris Pontius has sold his small single apartment in the Hollywood Hills, exchanging it for a much more spacious and relaxed property at the foot of the San Fernando Valley. The “Jackass” star and his wife Mae paid $ 1.6 million for the half-acre property Tarzana, which includes all the amenities you’d expect in a well-to-do Valley family home: a large, well-watered lawn and pool in the yard, in addition to a large garage with space for three cars and additional parking in the garage for several others.

Built in 1959, the updated ranch-style residence is about 3,300 square feet in its one-story skeleton. Situated on a small hill just above the street, a stone path leads to the front door of the structure with alternating sides of gravel and stone; inside, the shiny, dark brown hardwood floor continues to the formal dining and living rooms, both with French doors with direct access to various parts of the yard.

There is also a distinctly dated kitchen that looks a bit like a time machine from the early 90s, although it offers plenty of counter space, an island and a pantry. On the other hand, the unexpectedly large family room can accommodate large meetings and is well decorated with contemporary upgrades, such as built-in closets, a bar and stone fireplace.

Four of the five bedrooms have private baths, and the master is packed with bonus features not limited to a vaulted ceiling, glass shower stall with seating and rain shower, built-in soaking tub and a closet.

But perhaps the house’s most notable features are its unusual symphony of floor materials. Almost every room has a different floor choice – there are beige tiles in the kitchen, bone-colored carpet in the living room, gray carpet in one of the guest rooms, gray-gray carpet in the master bedroom, that dark brown hardwood in the living room. living and dining rooms. The list gives a positive touch to the decorative chaos, however, saying that the mixture of materials provides a “stimulating sensation on the floor”.

At the back, the pool and spa are protected by a mature elm tree, providing a welcome relief from the often relentless heat of the San Fernando Valley. Nestled in a corner of the grounds is a half basketball court and, just beyond the back porch, there is a flagstone patio for outdoor entertainment. At the rear of the property, wooden stairs go up the terraced hillside.

Marc Tahler and Ken Zietz of Rodeo Realty were on the list; TJ Paradise of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Pontius.
