A two-week bidding war between Bridge CEO Oracle Sina Estavi and technology entrepreneur Justin Sun saw the price go from $ 500,000 to the final sale of more than $ 2.9 million, with Sina Estavi winning with a bid of 1,630 Ether (ETH).
On March 10, Dorsey said he would immediately convert the proceeds of the sale into Bitcoin (BTC) and donate everything to GiveDirectly, an organization that helps those living in poverty in Africa. After the sale was completed, the CEO tweeted the transaction.

The auction was held on the “Valuables” NFT market and ended on March 22. The NFT platform allows users to buy and sell tokenized posts on Twitter and is operated by blockchain-based social media company Cent.
The platform saw many big names enter the market to sell tweets, such as the NBA, businessman Gary Vaynerchuck, the NFL’s Green Bay Packers and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
John Cleese’s “sell a bridge” joke, NFT, is costing more than $ 33,000
Famous British comedian and actor John Cleese seems to have jokingly joined the NFT gold rush.
On March 20, Cleese posted a video on Twitter announcing that she would auction off her first tokenized collectible on the NFT OpenSea market.
Identifying himself as “a young unknown digital artist”, Cleese described the rise of NFTs as a “cultural moment” that offers “a bridge from the past to the future”.
Invoking the real-life story of the American swindler who fraudulently sold the Brooklyn Bridge to various investors (who were later transferred by the police after trying to erect tolls on the bridge), Cleese offers to sell his followers an a-kind NFT by immortalizing his digital black-and-white scribble depicting the Brooklyn Bridge for the modest price of $ 69.3 million.
Hi! It’s time for you to meet my alter ego “Artist Without a Name”. I am pleased to offer you the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m selling my first NFT. Although bids start at 100.00, you can “BUY NOW” for 69.346.250,50! https://t.co/Vuyx4trvPE pic.twitter.com/aC4oSVfGHF

Despite Cleese’s aggressive pricing goals, bidding for the token started on March 21 at just $ 100, with the bids pushing prices up more than $ 33,000 at the time of this writing. The auction is set to end after another 10 days of bidding.

In a March 19 interview with Vanity Fair, Cleese commented on the NFTs: “The world has become terminally insane”.
PixelPanda NFTs used to save wild pandas
A new NFT project, “PixelPandas”, has announced that it will donate 10% of all profits to the panda conversation. The project will coin cards with images of pandas for each of the 1,864 pandas that remain in the wild and then auction the cards in limited installments on the NFT OpenSea market.

A PixelPanda featuring an 8-bit panda in a cap was purchased on March 19 for 0.01 ETH and was re-listed with a starting price of 1 ETH worth approximately $ 1,700.
NFTs are categorized by their rarity, with drops featuring “regular” pandas, rare “Kung Fu” and “Bamboo” pandas, and an ultra-rare “Albino” panda.
Donations of PixelPandas’ revenues have already funded the adoption of a wild panda through the World Wildlife Fund.
Thanks to you, the PixelPandas community has just adopted our first wild panda !!
Few people know that there are only 1,864 pandas in the jungle.
With the collection of 1,864 PixelPanda NFTs, our goal is to adopt as many wild pandas as possible!#NFTsforgood @WWF pic.twitter.com/O6zsRDJIwv

The auction is expected to close on March 25, with the current highest bid of 0.1 ETH worth around $ 170.
Nasty’s plunge into tokenized art follows other rappers like Ja Rule, who auctioned off an NFT depicting a painting of the disastrous “Fyre Festival” logo, for which he faced accusations after co-founding the event in 2017.
