Islanders postpone 2 games due to the COVID protocol

The Islanders had two games scheduled for this week postponed after Sabers on Tuesday became the last NHL team to be closed due to players in the COVID protocol.

The league announced that the Sabers were closed at least on Monday, after two players were added to the COVID-19 protocol list. Buffalo played two games over the weekend against the Devils, who are out at least on Saturday with 10 players on the list.

The Islanders’ games against the Sabers, scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday at the Nassau Coliseum, have been postponed. Tuesday’s game had already been postponed because the snowstorm that hit the East Coast postponed the Sabers’ flight to Tuesday, which altered COVID-19 testing and contact tracking and led to the postponement.
