Is it time for Kentucky to welcome ex-coach Tubby Smith back to raise a flag with his name on the beams of Rupp Arena?
Tubby’s career in Kentucky came to an end in 2007, after ten winning seasons in Lexington. The most notable moment in Tubby’s Kentucky career was the 1998 NCAA championship win against Utah, his first season in Lexington.
Mark Story, of the Lexington Herald-Leader, defined the criteria to be considered for a retirement of the shirt in the United Kingdom.
As I understand it, the criterion for retirement of the shirt is 1.) must be in the UK Athletics Hall of Fame to be considered; 2.) are not eligible for retirement from the shirt until 10 years after their departure from the United Kingdom. Tubby left Kentucky in 2007 and was consecrated at the UK Athletics H of F in 2013 https://t.co/Gf2HrYb0h6
