IPhone 13 release date: we have a good idea of ​​when Apple will launch its next phones

Although only a few months have passed since the iPhone 12 went on sale, Apple is already eyeing its next flagship smartphone, the iPhone 13 (or whatever it ends up being called). We expect to see four versions of the new phone: the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. But when can we expect Apple to reveal its newest phones?

Apple has not yet suggested an iPhone 13 event date. Based on Apple’s history, however, we can usually predicts when the company’s iPhone events will take place, and estimate on a release date based on that. While the pandemic changed the normal course for 2020, marking the first Apple event in September in eight years without iPhone because production delays, Kuo predicts that 2021 will see a return to the typical cadence of the company.

If that’s true, we can expect to take a look at the iPhone 13 at an event sometime in September.

Apple usually holds its events on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, and the iPhone’s release dates are usually set about a week and a half after the announcement of the new devices. Typically, new iPhones are launched on Fridays, around the third week of September.

A few years ago, CNET delved deeply into the timeline of Apple events and came up with an attractive Labor Day Hypothesis, which you can read about here. Based on the 2021 calendar, the Labor Day rule would place the Apple event in September (and the iPhone 13 launch) on September 8, with a launch date of 17 September.

We won’t know if this is true until Apple announces an event and shows the phones. But if you want to plan ahead and save for an iPhone 13, we bet on the September timeline, at least for now.
