iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, again, reported to get 120 Hz LTPO screens, with four models coming in 2021

This is not the first time that Apple is rumored to use 120 Hz LTPO display technology on the iPhone 13 Pro and the more premium iPhone 13 Pro Max. A new report now talks about how Apple’s Korean monitor suppliers are expected to see growth in 2021, possibly leading to greater gains due to the partnership with the iPhone giant.

Samsung and LG said to provide updated display technology to Apple for the iPhone 13 line, but surprisingly, there is no mention of BOE

With four models expected to arrive in 2021, ETNews summarizes which display technology we should expect for each version of the iPhone 13. Unfortunately, if you want to see what a faster screen on an iPhone is, you will have to spend a little more money on future.

Apparently, AirPods Max has a condensation problem that builds up inside Earcups when used for extended periods

  • iPhone 13 mini – 5.4 inch 60 Hz OLPS LTPS
  • iPhone 13 – 6.1 inch 60 Hz OLED LTPS
  • iPhone 13 Pro – OLED LTPO 6.1 inches and 120 Hz
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max – 6.7-inch 120 Hz OLED LTPO

The report mentions that Apple may see an increase in the price of the supply, but it is not confirmed whether the company will absorb these costs or pass them on to customers in the form of high prices. The advantage of LTPO technology on a smartphone is that it will dynamically switch between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, depending on the type of content shown. This helps to conserve battery life, which will be a primary goal for Apple because all iPhone 13 models must feature updated 5G modems.

As everyone knows, these modems are extreme battery drinkers and probably one of the reasons why Apple chose to omit the use of a 120 Hz panel in the iPhone 12 series, although each model featured compatible hardware. The report mentions that Samsung and LG will be responsible for providing these OLED screens, but it does not mention BOE anywhere. The Chinese screen maker started shipping OLED panels to the iPhone 12 family, while having a dedicated production line for the iPhone 13 line in H1 2021.

An industry member also mentioned in the report says that as iPhone sales are strong, there are high expectations for next year’s models, which are unlikely to suffer any production delays. This reveals that we can see the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max arrive in September next year, not in October. If there is any change to Apple’s plan, we will update it accordingly.

Do you like the iPhone 13 family from next year so far, or do you believe that less expensive models should also receive a 120 Hz LTPO update? Tell us in the comments.
