Although the iPhone 11 is IP68 certified and designed for a depth of two meters up to 30 minutes, there are always some miraculous tales in which these smartphones have survived much longer. The most recent is how the 6.1-inch model was recovered from the bottom of a lake in British Columbia and continued to function after being submerged for six months.

Chilliwack free divers Clayton Helkenberg and his wife Heather told CBC that after they went to the bottom of a lake to look for lost items, they found an iPhone 11. They also found a flip phone, but it was badly damaged, unfortunately. The iPhone 11, on the other hand, was in exceptional working condition, except for a broken microphone and some speaker problems.
“I took it home, cleaned up the dirt and lit it immediately, so it was amazing.”
After ejecting the SIM and placing it on another device to contact the owner, the iPhone 11 was found to belong to Vancouver resident Fatemeh Ghodsi. The iPhone 11 was said to have crashed during a boat ride, with team members telling Ghodsi that it was impossible to recover the smartphone.
Destiny, on the other hand, had different intentions for the owner. Upon receiving a text message from her own number, Ghodsi thought it was her friends playing a trick on her, but was later convinced to take her iPhone.
“I was in a situation where I lost my balance and dropped into the water. I was in total shock, initially. It was like a zombie phone came back to me, because I would be totally at peace if it was gone. “
