Iowa reports 3 additional deaths from COVID-19, over 6,000 complete vaccines

IOWA

(KWWL) – There were 631 new cases confirmed from 10am Tuesday to 10am Wednesday, according to the state panel, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 337,594.

The state website reports that of the 337,594 people who tested positive, 317,738 recovered. There are 895 more recoveries than the state released on Tuesday.

The death toll in the state is 5,501, three more than reported yesterday.

The subtraction of the number of recoveries (317,738) and the number of deaths (5,501) from the total number of cases (337,594) shows that there are currently 14,355 active positive cases in the state.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 40 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the past 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 191, an increase from 209 hospitalized the day before. Of these, 40 are in the ICU (against 39) and 11 are on ventilators (the same as yesterday).

In Iowa, there were 3,650 people tested in the last 24 hours and a total of 1,565,415 people were tested for COVID-19.

According to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine panel, 696,640 total doses were administered to Iowa residents and 186,759 individuals completed the series, which is 6,174 more than on Tuesday. You can view the dashboard for more data. You can find more information and stories about vaccines here.

BLACK HAWK COUNTY

From 10am on Tuesday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 panel is presenting 19 new cases since 10 am on Monday, leaving a total of 15,924 cases. There were 33 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,190. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 292 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 6,568 residents were fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

From 10am on Wednesday, the Linn County COVID-19 panel is presenting 19 new cases since 10am on Tuesday, leaving a total of 19,466 cases. There were 63 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 17,899 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 327 deaths in the county. Currently, there are 14 patients admitted to the municipality. In Linn County, 15,181 residents were fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According status panel At 10 am on Wednesday, there are 18 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 am on Tuesday. This brings the total to 13,110 reported cases. There were a total of 12,492 recoveries, 46 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 74. In Johnson County, 15,031 residents were fully vaccinated.

DUBBLE COUNTY

According status panel at 10 am on Wednesday, there were 19 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 am on Tuesday. This brings the total to 12,407 reported cases. There were 26 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 11,732. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 194. In Dubuque County, 7,941 residents were fully vaccinated.
