Iowa man seen chasing cop in Capitol riot video arrested

A 41-year-old man from Iowa was arrested on Saturday on charges of being part of the Trump support crowd that broke into the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday.

Doug Jensen of Des Moines appears to be the man who stood in front of a crowd that entered the Capitol and chased a black policeman down a flight of stairs in several videos of the riot, including a posted by HuffPost reporter Igor Bobic.

Jensen was wearing a black Q-Anon T-shirt and a black cap as he chased the policeman up the stairs and into a lobby, where other officers gathered to confront the intruders. His face appeared in a series of photos released by the FBI on Thursday.

In a now deleted TikTok video posted on Thursday with the username @dougjensen, a man who appears to be Jensen suggested that a “poster boy” was being made for what happened and ends by saying, “Don’t believe the news” Associated Press reported.

He was charged early on Saturday on five federal charges, including trespassing and charges of disorderly conduct, according to press releases from the FBI field office in Omaha, Nebraska and the Polk County sheriff’s office.

Jensen posted several photos of himself participating in the invasion, according to the Des Moines Register. He also posted photos responding to other accounts associated with the Q-Anon conspiracy community on social media, asking if they liked his shirt.

Jensen was among several other protesters arrested in the past two days.
