IOWA
(KWWL) – There were 847 new cases confirmed from 10am on Saturday to 10am on Sunday, according to the state panel, which brings the total number of cases in the state to 312,811.
The state website reports that of the 312,811 people who tested positive, 274,104 recovered. There are 915 more recoveries than the state reported on Saturday.
The death toll in the state is 4,488, one more than reported on Saturday.
Subtracting the number of recoveries (274,104) and the number of deaths (4,488) from the total number of cases (312,811), we currently have 34,219 positive cases active in the state.
Since 10 am Sunday morning, there were 51 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the past 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 384, which is 419 yesterday. Of these admissions, 79 are in the ICU (against 76 yesterday) and 36 are on ventilation (against 38 yesterday).
In Iowa, there were 2,751 new tests performed in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,447,213 people were tested for COVID-19. The positivity rate in the last 24 hours (847 positive tests divided by 2,751 tests provided) is 30.8 percent.
According to the state’s latest vaccine report, released on Friday, 167,961 total doses were administered to Iowa residents, with more than 26,463 completing the series. As of Friday, 6,648 residents of Black Hawk County, 13,188 residents of Linn County, 15,045 residents of Johnson County and 6,339 residents of Dubuque County have received the vaccine. Iowa is currently in Phase 1a of the vaccine launch, which means that doses are being distributed to healthcare professionals and residents and staff at long-term care facilities. Phase 1b is set to start on February 1st.
BLACK HAWK COUNTY
From 10am on Sunday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 panel is presenting 48 new cases since 10am on Saturday, leaving a total of 14,970 cases (14,079 positive cases for PCR and antigen and 891 positive cases for serology). There are 22 more recoveries, for a total of 12,585 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 243 deaths. The county’s average 14-day positivity rate is 10.6 percent.
LINN COUNTY
From 10am on Sunday, the COVID-19 panel from Linn County is presenting 60 new cases since 10am on Saturday, leaving a total of 18,049 cases. There were 14 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 15,635 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 251 deaths. Currently, there are 27 patients admitted to the municipality. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 8%.
JOHNSON COUNTY
According status panel At 10 am on Sunday, there are 36 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 am on Saturday. This brings the total to 12,287 reported cases. There were a total of 10,771 recoveries, 50 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 52 deaths. The county’s average 14-day positivity rate is 10 percent.
DUBBLE COUNTY
According status panel at 10 am on Sunday, there were 60 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 am on Saturday. This brings the total to 11,623 reported cases. There were 26 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 10,378. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 159 deaths. The county’s average 14-day positivity rate is 10 percent.
