There have been a few rounds of rumors about the WWE refusing to allow Kairi Sane to appear on Stardom’s 10th anniversary show, All Star Dream Cinderella. The last, from last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, specified that Stardom offered two options – the winner of the Mae Young Classic could work in a solo match or participate in a real battle with other joshi legends. O’E reportedly rejected both pitches.
Maybe this is what they offered instead?
Like Kairi, Io Shirai was synonymous with Stardom before signing with WWE. This video is not the same as having Sane, Shirai or Asuka returning to the company for an appearance. But it’s featured prominently on all of your online channels and it’s an incredible promotion for All Star Dream Cinderella.
And hey, maybe the rumors were wrong and Princess Pirate was sailing to Nippon Budokan next Wednesday (March 3rd)? Probably not, especially since Sane is serving as WWE ambassador to Japan, a role that could include opening a Performance Center and possibly even establishing a regional NXT brand that would compete with Bushiroad-owned Stardom.
But the forbidden doors are being opened elsewhere, so dare (All Star) to dream (Cinderella).
